My name is Luke Bump and I was born in Columbus, Ohio. I am a returning student after a short 12 year break. For those 12 years, I worked in the large digital format printing business. It was cool - I got to work with artist and help them take their ideas and make them into something tangible. But companies aren't spending money on advertising like they used to, so I lost my job. After weighing my options, I decided to come back to UNCG and get my diploma.
I'm very happily married to my college sweetheart, Emily, and we have 2 beautiful children: my daughter Zoe just turned 5, and my son Silas is almost 8 months. I am having a blast being a dad! Greatest "job" in the world! I learn as much as if not more from them then they do from me. My wife and I plan on having a few more.
My passion is music. I play the guitar and drums and sing in my church's contemporary services, and play lead guitar in the Christian band Grace Reigns Down. (free CD's if you want one!!!) I have been in love with music since I was a little kid. It is my favorite way of expressing my inner most feelings. Music will always be a huge part of my life and I plan to use it in my classroom, too. Not sure how, yet, but it will be there!
